Abstract

This article examines the critical role of language education in driving economic growth in Nigeria, by exploring the intricate relationships between language, culture, and economic development, using a mixed-methods approach that combines literature review, expert interviews, and case studies. It highlights the importance of language skills in enhancing employability and entrepreneurship, and proposes strategies for improving language education. The article also features success stories and provides a roadmap for policymakers, educators and stakeholder to harness the power of language education and propel Nigeria towards economic growth. By prioritizing language education, Nigeria can unlock its economic potential and position itself for sustainable growth.
