Abstract

This study examines how Nigerian students use the internet, utilizing Federal Polytechnic, Bida, as a case study. Using simple random sampling selection, 50 students were chosen from each of the Polytechnic's six schools, and their answers were gathered via the distribution of questionnaires. 219 of these surveys were finished and subjected to percentage computations and Chi-square testing for analysis. The results show that science-oriented students are the main users of internet resources. Furthermore, the majority of users are between the ages of 21 and 30 from the South-West region, and they have finished four semesters at the Polytechnic..The study suggests that government and educational administrators should develop strategies to encourage students from other disciplines, regions, and age groups to utilize internet facilities. Furthermore, parents are encouraged to provide these facilities at home for student use.
