Abstract

This study investigated Public-Private Partnership (PPPs) and Infrastructural Development in Nigeria Public Sector. The research was carried out to determine the extent to which public private partnership enhance the infrastructural growth of the public sector, using Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, Imo state.  The study was anchored on structural functional theory. It used survey research design and questionnaire was used to collect primary data. The data collected were analysed using simple percentage, and the hypotheses were tested using chi-square. The study found that there is significant relationship between Public Private Partnership (PPP) and provision of health infrastructure in Alvan Ikoku University of education and there is significant effect of Public Private Partnership (PPP) on provision of infrastructure for business operators in Alvan Ikoku University of education. The study concludes that for PPP to work in Nigeria, all projects must be developed and procured in line with the national policy on PPP and MDAs must make adequate provision for project development. It was recommended that there is need for improved partnership between public and private sectors so as to achieve public private partnership for infrastructural development and Organizational leaders especially in public sector should effectively go for public private partnership to improve their infrastructural facilities.
