Impact of Institutional Capability on Political Development in Nigeria from 2015 to 2023
Abstract
This study examined the impact of institutional capability on political development in Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. It used descriptive survey of quantitative analyses for data collection from Ministry Department and Agencies in Nigeria (MDAs). The sample size was 271, with 30% added for increased response. The data was analyzed using inferential statistics. The linear regression analysis revealed a statistically significant and positive correlation between the institution of governance and political growth in Nigeria throughout the period from 2015 to 2023. The F-value of 182.142 and P-value of 0.000 support the significant relationship, with 40.4% accounted for by the institution of governance. The beta coefficient of 0.635 suggests a moderate positive correlation between institutional capability and political development. The study recommends improvement in the level of transparency in the functioning of institutions to establish public confidence and ensure responsibility. The study also calls for enactment of extensive reforms with the goal of enhancing the efficiency and efficacy of governmental institutions. This includes the optimisation of procedures, the reduction of administrative obstacles, and the improvement of methods for delivering services.
