The Impact of Climate on Human Health in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State

This research focuses on the evaluation of the impact of climate on human health in Keffi local government area. It discussed such climatic health threats which includes diseases incurred from climatic variation through various climatic elements, precipitation (moisture), insolation (sunshine), temperature, humidity, snow etc effects to human health. During the research, diseases such like; malaria, pneumonia, asthma, migraine, skin cancer, eye cataract, etc were observed to be climatic sensitive diseases in the area. Meningitis and T.B. are highly promoted through dust effects. With intensive insolation highly results to eye cataracts, migraine, heat stroke, rashes and skin attack whereby, such cases are highly rampant mostly during heat (summer) period. The research also established that intense effect of climate on human also aggravates many cardiovascular and respiratory challenges. The research advances to health problems incurred from air foul through the discharge and emission of many toxic substances into the atmosphere (e.g CO2, N2O, CFC, CH, and others gaseous contents) which has and continued to be a serious health challenge in the area. Such has inconvenience human lives through infirmity of the body, physiological imbalance, morbidity and most at times, advanced to mortality. And conclusively, ends with enormous mitigating measures to such climatic health threats.
